zillafreak 04 maxipad

Owned the car for a couple months.
Since I bought it, I have done the following:
New brakes all around
Front tires
New filter for the cai
New plugs
Oil change
New o2 sensor in the rear
Just did new motor mounts and mmi in front

Still need to do rear tires and struts and shocks.

Just to get her to ride smooth and steady.
Going to do rear shocks soon, the new tires on the front still give a vibration in the wheel, not sure if one tire is bad or just wasn't balanced good. It needs rear tires asap.
Little by little.

Also had the issue where the adjustable seat/wheel doesn't self adjust when i open/close the door. figured it is a stretched wire because if i move the seat a tad forward from fully back and the wheel a tad end from fully out, it works.
This weekend had an issue with the driver window getting in a bind. When i would do the auto up, it would catch then go back down. It doesn't do it all the time, so ya.

Well , metric size !

Zillafreak 07-16-2015 08:24 AM

Re: zillafreak 04 maxipad

The one of the left is the old one, the ID is around 1". The one of the right is the new one, the ID is around 7/8". The new one fits in the bracket great, just missing the flares on the outside. But it wont go around the sway bar. Anyone know if the rear sway bar had different sizes? The new bushing fits around the front bar, but doesn't match the outside profile.

Re: zillafreak 04 maxipad

They might have sent you the wrong ones mate .

Zillafreak 07-16-2015 08:41 AM

Re: zillafreak 04 maxipad

Bought them local, the numbers of the box match the ones I seen sold online, maybe wrong bushing in the box. But the fact that it fit the bracket perfect is the weird part. I have new ones being orders at a different store.

Ok , will see what s happening .

I would check on with Courtesy Nissan Parts in order to have the good one also , I mean if the #s match .

Fronts or Rears .

Zillafreak 07-16-2015 09:21 AM

Re: zillafreak 04 maxipad

I am doing the rears.

Looking at this one http://www.courtesyparts.com/56243-b...669_2754_2758&

The hole is tiny on there.

I ordered another from a different location, wrong ones show up again.

Hopefully 3rd time in the charm.
FYI, the maxima does have 2 different size rear sway bars, 25mm and one that is smaller.

The rear are super easy. Just 2 bolts for each, pull bracket off, swap out bushing and ya. I already stripped one bolt, had a 12pt socket (couldn't find the 6pt at first). Hoping I can get it off still. On the lift, I didn't have to remove anything to access the bolts.

The fronts don't look hard, but the bracket is up on the frame. Can't see the bolt head direct. Only issue/problem I can foreshadow is the exhaust pipe. I have to drive to my parents and the pipe will be hot. Looks like my arm might touch it while working on the front.

My guesstimate for time is 30 minutes on rear, 1hr on front. I will let you know tonight.

I replaced the ones on the back too, and they are smaller than originals.
Donīt know why.
Also they didnīt fit around the sway bar, I just push them to fit in. No issues so far (6-8 months now)
I need to replace the front.
