![]() I could have replaced the stocker and added an extra battery in the trunk but in some aspects that is a band aid and has its own limitations. The decision was made to order a 275 Amp (Big Case) High output unit which would leave me with a bit extra power if I was to ever upgrade down the road. I called Tom (Owner) @ Ohio Generator. They have been in business for a long time building custom High output Alternators at a affordable prices compared to other well known companies. Their name often comes up in Audio forums Tom asked me my intentions with my audio and electrical needs and what I was currently running. Before hanging up the phone Tom stated that he does not currently have one for a 6gen Maxima and that I will have a high output alternator build within 4 days and shipped! Wow, I answered. I received a call from Mike @ Ohio Generator 3 days later stating that it was shipped and its on way. Their Big Case alternators are hand build inluding a custom pulley that increases idle outputs, as well as a pigtail that plugs into a Maxima harness making this alternator 100% bolt in as well as plug in. (Alternator to battery O gauge wire upgrade is recommended) Your original 42" alternator belt will no longer work due to the smaller size of the new alternator pulley. (Goodyear belt & part number picture below) You will need a 41" alternator belt. Each alternator is hand build in house and the pig tail is also soldered. Keen eye will notice the Ford Motorcraft regulator which is a lot more stout then the Valeo/Mitsubishi regulator units Nissan uses. An Alternator output test sheet was also provided along with its own Serial Number. On my personal alternator spec sheet it put out a staggering 309 Amps @ 6000 alt RPM. In real life data this translates to 147 Amps @ idle ![]() The folks at Ohio Generator are as professional as are the products they make and sell. Seriously. To top it off their products are more affordable then the competition. If your alternator is not keeping up or you start seeing that scary alternator and brake light illuminate on your dash, don't hesitate too long and have your Max leave you stranded. Give these guys a call. I'm confident you will be very glad you did. I will let the pictures do the rest of the talking. I will update this review a year from now and advise how the alternator holds up to a year of abuse. Ohio Generator 330.875.6677 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

^^^^ what they said, LOL. I currently have a second battery (Stinger sp1000) but I would rather upgrade my alternator. I looked into them a couple of year ago and never really bit the bullet. IIRC these around 250-350, could be more, at that range i can see it as a good upgrade anything more is tough.
I remember some companies selling them for upwards of 500 |

In for price.
also do you need to run a different/longer belt to the alternator or will the normal one be fine? |

Me personally I would head this up but my days are busy at work worring about Medical Legal Review for a few projects lol. |

Do you also have a UDP installed in your max? Since I know those require slightly longer belts to fit the UnderDrive Pully.

Ok guys, I appologise for the delay. I spoke with Tom @ Ohio Generator about pricing through group buy. These alternators normally go for $450+25 for the plug in harness.
If there is 10 people interested price will be $ 425 plus shipping $20.00 This is including the harness If there is 15 people interested the price will be 395.00 plus shipping $20.00 Also including the harness. Who ever is interested please add your name to the list.

IMO,Its a really good deal for what you are getting. Ive shopped around before I pulled the trigger. Keep in mind that a OEM specs brand new(no-reman) alternator is $200-215.
