Default What Maintenance Should I Do?

I forgot to mention. I have this annoying RPM needle movement in my wife's maxima.

I brought the car in about 4 months ago to diagnose the problem because anytime I drive her car it annoys me. The RPM needle moves up and down 100-300RPM constantly in P or in D does not matter. The engine is fully warmed up etc.

I got charged the $125.00 diagnostics fee and I paid it without issues. But they tell me this is a normal problem and I don't believe so. Anyone else have this annoying RPM needle movement?

I got my wifes car about 8 months ago. Its a 2008 Maxima SE with 18k miles. So basically the car was almost 5 years old and only 18k miles. My question is should I do the 30k 24 month recommended maintenance or 60k 48 month recommended maintenance? Let me know what you guys think.

Im thinking.
CVT drain/fill
Air filter
Cabin filter
Coolant
Radiator cap

I already did oem BELTS and rear oem brake pads.

Why would you do either? Car doesn't have the 30K and definitely not the 60K. I would do the 30K between the 30K and 35K and the 60K between the 60K and 65K.

I havent done anything yet that is just a reference list of should I do it?

What makes me worry is service recmmwnds 30k or 24 months, 60k or 48 months.
I really would like to keep this car for a very long time because im planning to buy realestate soon.

Don't waste your money maintaining something that doesn't need to be maintained. You can take your car to a Mechanic or the dealer for a full check up to see what needs to be worked on, but I highly doubt you really have anything to worry about or replace.

follow your maintenance schedule that's in your glove box and you'll be fine.

I typically change all the fluids when I buy a used car to be on the safe side. Just never know how it was previously treated.

I wouldn't do anything outside of an oil change and air filter at this point. Car is still basically new and doesn't need any work. But at the end of the day, it's what gives you peace of mind, so if it makes you feel comfortable doing the work, then do the 30K. I still don't think it's needed though.

That's bullshit man, my ass would have gotten ETHNIC with them. Needles don't jump for no reason, there's something causing it and they didn't want to take the time to find the real issue. I would put a complaint in with Nissan about that dealership along with a copy of the print out they gave you. The economy is already fucked up, no one has $125 just to be throwing around.

Sorry to hear you're going through all the trouble to figure out a problem. Hopefully it's something simple that one of the members can help out with.
