Default How Well Do You Feed Your Max?

What octane do you use and why?

I use 93 because it is with out a doubt better for the car, and if u do a timing advance you MUST use 92 or higher octane

and i figure its an average of 0.20 difference in price so if you do the math on a full tank that $3
so for the price of 2 cups of coffee I can keep my maxima happy:sAni_puppy:

heres the proof...watch the hole thing its like 4 minutes but 93 does make a noticeable difference

I use 91 but since it wasn't up there, I could not vote. It's not a Porsche, no reason to spend the money for 93.

You should of changed the poll to include 93. that is what's recommended. 91..is not a substitute.

Whatever Premium is here that's what I've always used. Now I think the dealership I bought the car from IIRC mentioned that they had put Regular in it, but that was the last time this car has seen Regular...

93 from Sunoco. I remember the gas station on the top of the Garden State put regular in by mistake and I almost got into a fight with the guy over it. I could tell the difference just starting up.

Say what???!! Super unleaded is recommended, not 93, not 91 or whatever, you just chose to use 93. My gas cap says super unleaded only! Not 91, not 93. 91 is super here. 93 is super super unleaded, only Lamborghini's and high end cars gas up there, my car is not one of them. Besides, there's only one gas station around my house that carries it and is $.75 more then super unleaded, Im not paying that for a Maxima, sorry. 91 works just fine.

the reason why i put 91,92,and 93 together is because generally speaking most gas stations will have either of them only a couple times have i seen 91, and 93 at the same place. how ever i did the pole with the general idea of 3 tiered gas. regular, super, premium, so whether it be 91 or 93 the concept of premium gas is still there

91 works best bro because like RAZ said our cars are not HIGH end meaning
our compression ratios are only 10.XX.. range VS the NEW 3.7s are 11.XX.. range which then 93 would be BEST

But for regular 3.5 stock even bolt on 91 performs best 93 more deposits in the long run vs 91 only use.........

This is also the case for 9..XXX.. compresion ratio for the 2.5 QR25DE motor found in Altimas if you use 91 even if your BOLt on fully you will have deposit built up and 89 will still deposit in the long long run

If you have 2 degree timing it still doesnt matter 91 is still best
unless your running turbo or nitrous with a piggy back then you need 95+octane

Shell V 93 ONLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reason why? When i open my gas tank door - it clearly states "for maximum performance, use premium fuel"

Maxima - Performance = premium!

Also because putting anything low will cause a knocking sound in the engine & I actually like my car so i want to treat it right. Plus, i have +2 timing.
