Default Fidelity Warranty Service

fuck fidelity warranty services, to the OG members this is the warranty that i got from winterfaust (chris) i took my car in because my ABS where acting up and my timing chain was making noise, well i got a call back from the dealer telling me that they denied my claim because my car was modified, WTF? i called fidelity and they told me that my claim was denied because it was modified , i told him yes it is but i don't have any engine modifications besides a CAI, he told me that my contract states that i shouldn't have any modifications,(thanks a lot winterfaust for selling me a warranty knowing that i couldn't use it) after going back and forth with fidelity, they called my dealer and asked if my modifications had anything to do with what's wrong with my car, they said no and that nissan has a bulletin for the timing chain because it is a common issue, so my case was reopened but with one condition, i had to agree to be responsible to pay if when they open my engine they find that the timing chain went bad because of something i did

mine is an 06, the bulletin is for all 6th gens, basically alot of our cars start making noises cause of the timing chain and nissan recognised this problem and sent a bulletin out and one for the abs sensor too

Kenji that fucking sucks man. The only thing I could see them complaning about is the intake but damn that should have no relation to the timing chain tensioner. That is why there is a TSB because its a very common problem. This is why I hate buying aftermarket warranties. At the end of the day its better just paying as needed instead of getting some shit that will become useless.

Good luck bro!!!

I just posted the actual TSB on this issue that you can print out and take to your dealer.

Refresh my memory me some since its been awhile since I had any TSB work done. A TSB does not mean the dealer HAS to fix it correct? (unlike a recall) It merely means they've had enough problems that Nissan has written a Technical Bulletin to better manage the problem, yeah? So by printing it out and strolling into the dealer with it, doesn't mean they'll give a crap?

THAT'S EXACTLY what I went through, not with your same insurance though. I forgot the fuckers I had, but they blamed timing chain noise on my CAI, which is the ONLY thing I had at the time. My contract clearly stated that they don't cover any engine that's modified by any part that's not Nissan made, so I had the dealer print out proofs that Nismo is made by Nissan (another reason why it's better to get Nismo CAI)... I paid the cost ($1,600) and sued their asses for preach of contract. I got my $1,600, $1800 I paid for warranty + $500 for pissing me off :rofl3:.

Keep working on it, they're just BSing to not pay. importroller (Shawn) use to work for a warranty company, and he told me they train their employees to always deny claims, regardless of what it is. Then, if the customer fights it, then MAYBE they'll cover it.

It really dumb how you pay for this service and when you need it... they try to deny you instanly regardless if you are stock or not. As the law says, they would need to prove that the cold air intake caused the problem.

Did the fucking intake suck into too much air that it cracked the tensioners. Something they are capable of saying. Those representatives don't know shit about cars. They see something thats a different color in the engine bay, they want to say thats the problem.

Sorry you had to go through this but I would fight it. I would have removed the intake and said the motor was all stock because an aftermarket intake is all it takes for them to deny you a 1K+ job that they should be covering.

Read your contracts carefully before signing anything. Have an attorney review it if necessary. I deal with contracts all day long, if you don't know what you've signed and what terms and conditions you're being bound to, you can be up the creek when you need to collect, insurance policies especially.

Deadbolt, glad to hear you were able to sue for breach of contract, you're 100% correct, insurance companies are in the business to make as much money as possible, not to pay claims. I used to work on the insurance advocacy side so I definitely know how these reps are trained.

Damn, I just bought the 25/25 Xtra Care Warranty from Warranty Direct. Has anybody had any issues with them? My tensioner has gone bad as well and this is the main reason I bought the warranty, plus I want them to fix my sunroof since its squeaking.

well i got some good news today, they are paying for my timing chain and motor mounts, thank God that the guy i complained to was a car guy, he was able that my wheels where the same diameter as my 18's and that the CAI didn't have anything to do with the tensioners
