I've had a couple CAI and now have a short ram, I gave an evaluation in my
thread = R2C Intake Installation Bottom line there are pros and cons to both.

Daily driving shortram. If Racing or want a bit more top end then cold air. Short ram w heat shield like the r2C is ideal.

Both are good, depending on your application. If you want the torque at low RPMs then you want RAM. If you like to have the power at higher speeds, then CAI. I have Takeda CAI and love it, Better then the Fujita I had before simply because it can be both and the quality filters with dust covers. I keep mine CAI most of teh time since I dont care for low RPM torque.

I have the short ram. Love the bottom end power. An instant throttle response from the short ram... My top end seems fine too.

I've got the NISMO...sucking cool air from the fenderwell...If you are going to get a short-ram, your best bet is probably the Takeda...due to the heat shield.

Takeda? I think it's the r2c that has the heat shield.

Yeah, R2C and K&N are the only short rams I know of with heat shields. I know for a fact that Takeda doesn't because it's what I have at the moment.
