Default What Grease Should I Use For Lower Ball Joint???

Does anyone know what type of grease I should use to put back into the lower ball joint and tie rod end boots??

I am replacing my driver axle with a RAXLES axle within the next day or so... want to make sure those boots have enough grease...

Is there a grease fitting to re-grease, or are they sealed...I don't remember? If there is a fitting, just go to AutoZone/AdvanceAuto and get whatever grease they have...I don't think it really makes a difference. The last tube of grease I got was some type of lithium grease...I don't remember the brand.

If there are no grease fittings, then they should not need to be greased. If they are dried out, replace them.

So if you look at the picture above you will see the lower ball joint and you will see the rubber boot is pushed down and grease came out of the boot because the knuckle is off. Surely grease needs to be put back into that boot, right?

And also the tie rod end... same deal

On my 3rd gen I just used wheel bearing grease and a needle on the pump to put some back in. it doesnt look like a bad ball joint unless it freely wobbles around or is locked up tight. other than that you should be fien to push back in some grease and put it all back together.

Yep, our stock outer tie rod ends are sealed. I recently replaced mine with ones from Napa - those have zerk fittings.
