I went the box cutter razor blade route and finally got it out. Now waiting on the switchblade to arrive. How do you get the chip out of a 6.5 key? Can you?

I assume this is the small square on the side of the bottom of the key by the blade? I actually want to use a different key than the switchblade and was hoping to find the chip to mount it else where. Can any show removing the chip from the old key? I tried using a small knife and it is simply tearing the key's plastic shroud.
