Default Unlock & Lock When Car Is Placed In Drive And Park?

Hi guys I have a very stupid question to ask. I have used the search button and couldn't find a thread on this. Here goes, I have a 06 Max SL bought it a year ago, shouldn't the car lock and unlock on it's own when placed in drive or park? Again I know this is a dumb question it's that when I asked the dealer they told me no.

You can buy an adapter that will allow this to happen, but it is not stock.

I asked that question a month ago in a different thread for my 2004. Never got a response. It makes no sense that Nissan did not make this an option, since all the hardware is in place, with keyless entry and electric locks.

Thanks Hawaii, I just checked it out. They do have some unique things. I did not realize all that after-market stuff was available, like the tilt mirrors and the Nav interface to automatically press enter when you start the car (not that I have Nav.) I guess you can have any toy you want. Just add water and an old coat hangar and mix with a lot of Money. LOL

I find that to be a weird comment to make. Price doesn't always equal every feature you think should be on a car... Heck my wife's Ford Edge is the top of the line limited AWD drive version. It still doesn't have Nav, power passenger seats or heated steering but it does have heated seats panoramic glass and auto locking doors. There's just no direct correlation like that.

Good Link Hawaii, that door lock thing i dont care about, i remember aftermarket alarms can do this, OP why not get an aftermarket alarm and get that as a feature as well as autostart and possible much more?

I have the Clifford 5902X seen here: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...mpaign=froogle

It rolls up and down my windows, autostart, and can even lock and unlock which you are looking for, however i had the guy not hook that up as i can care less for that option. I love this alarm and it has a shit load of options, so much so i cant even count all nor use all but its hooked up. Haha, you dont have to get this alarm, i know it a bit on the higher end price wise but you can get a comparable one.

The only reason i went with this was because i now street park, since moving back to NYC

My last couple cars had the autolock feature. I got used to it, and actually missed it when we got my wife's Altima, and then the Maxima. Now, I'm used to not having it, so it doesn't bother me anymore.
