Default Two Separate Issues; Getting Irritated w/Nissan

I have an 08 se w/ a 3.5. I have already had cvt issues and had it replaced now I'm having trouble with the tpms and cruise. First the Tpms, for a few months now the light flashes repeatedly. I hooked this up to a scanner and none of the tires were registering anything. All fuses checked out to be good. Secondly my cruise has stopped. I can hit the switch and it will come on after about five tries. Once it comes on the set light flashes repeatedly. I checked both brake switches with a meter and they were good. All bulbs are good too. I was not able to find a fuse or relay for this. Any help is greatly appreciated

Sounds like you tpms sensors aren't registering with your car. Are you under any warranty at all with the dealership?

Hey, Welcome to the Family!

When the ECM detects any of the following conditions, the computer will cancel your cruise operation and inform you by blinking indicator

-Your engine coolant temperature is slightly higher then normal operating temperature..... (Cruise lamp will blink SLOW ) if this is your symptom scan your vehicle and see the output of your ECT sensor is within specs....

-When the coolant temperature decreases to normal operatin temp, Cruise lamp will stop blinking and and you will be able to activate your cruise by pressing SET/COAST switch or RESUME/ACCELERATE switch.

-Malfunction regarding ASCD control. Light will blink FAST

Assuming you tested the both ASCD and stop lamp switch correctly ( same applies to both switches.... between pins 1 & 2 when brake pedal is fully released "Continuity" should NOT exist, with brake pedal depressed continuity should exist.

Now lets check if the ECM is receiving these inputs....
cAUTION
DO NOT USE ECM GROUND TERMINALS WHEN YOU MEASURE INPUT/OUTPUT VOLTAGES.USE BODY GROUND!

backpropbe the ecm terminals
EMC Terminal #101, wire color P/L (stop lamp switch) ignition switch off. brake pedal released, input would be aprox =0V
ignition off,brake pedal depressed =battery voltage 11-14V

ECM Terminal # 108, wire color G/R, ASCD brake switch, ignition on, brake pedal fully released =battery voltage 11-14V
Ignition on, brake pedal depressed =aproximately 0V.

IF all this is in spec then the next step would be checking both VSS (speed sensors) Considering that you had CVT work done, perhaps vehicle speed sensor connector or wiring issue on the tranny.

The ECM receives to speed signals. One from the TCM and the other is unified meter and A/C amp. The ECM uses these inputs in addition to brake switches for ASCD control.

Hope THis helps.

Thanks for the response. Ill check voltages at ecm and see what they read. I'm leaning toward the latter issue you noted since this has been an issue since the cvt was replaced. Thanks again

Ok I havent been able to check voltages yet but I did pull a P1564 code. I saw where this refers to a fault in the ascd steering switch. If this needs replacing where is the best place to get this? I havent been able to locate one online. Does anyone happen to have a part #?

That was my next guess. The switch sometimes goes bad. Look at this link and find the one for your car.
