Default Taking Apart The Headlight / Turn Signal Stalk

Hey everyone! I was wondering if you guys could give me a hand with a little problem I have. I need to take apart the headlight / turn signal stalk. I don't mean the plug end, I mean the actual stalk itself. I need to replace the wires going to the fog light switch because, well, I kinda sorta shorted it out and burnt / melted the insulation off the wires. Anyone have any idea how to take it apart? Thanks! I have included a picture of what exactly I mean.

disconnect battery and drain residual power. Unplug Airbag. Use a proper puller on the steering wheel, pull the steering wheel off which will reveal the stacks then you replace the entire assy. They are not serviceable. You replace it as a unit.

Well, I soldered two wires to the two solder points on the board on the back of the module where the original switch leads landed, shorted them together, and the fog lights came on. I just need to route the wire down the steering column and install a switch near the mirror adjustment. I'll use that until I figure out if I want to buy a new blinker / headlight stalk module.

I'm the type of person that takes "not user serviceable" to mean "figure out how to take it apart and fix it yourself." If I can save a few bucks I will.
