Default Stalling In Neutral

Looking into buy an 04 max(orange) that's having some stalling issues. The owner has taken the car to a shop, and they couldn't figure it out(some mechanics huh). He had the cam sensor replaced but that did nothing.

He is giving me a pretty good price on the car since it has issues..but im hoping that it won't cost me too much to fix. Obviously I plan on having the car looked at by someone that knows what they're doing, before buying, but I figured I'd ask here first.

Well based of what others have been saying, it could be a fuel choke or a throttle positioning sensor.

Is there any CEL codes?
There are 2 cam position sensors. Make sure both are replaced with OEM Nissan parts. You only mentioned 1 sensor being replaced.
Other most common reasons why it is stalling on idle are:
- idle air relearns and throttle body must be performed.
- CKP (crank position sensor)
-MAF (least likely if its only stalling on idle)

Ill look into it further. Any idea how much these would cost to get fixed? Thanks!

Figured id post an update. Found out that buddy(owner) here hadnt changed his oil in his entire ownership of the car(a little over a year)(he only drove 3000 km too..lol). So i bought the car...and a 12 dollar 5 quart bottle of castrol fixed the problem. had my mechanic replace the 6 spark plugs, clean the intake manifold and put in royal purple gear oil(he basically did it for free since hed known my dad for over 25 years). Car is running smooth now. the luxury features of the elite package among others is very nice. cant complain at all for a 4000 dollar car.

Congratulations on the purchase of your Burnt Orange Elite Machine.

Glad everything worked out. Don't follow in the footsteps of the previous owner, change the oil on time.
