Default scraping/grinding noise, maintenance advice

Hi, first post here. i have 07' max SL, got it at 86k now at 97k, currently coming from the engine bay when im at 1500-2500 rpm ill hear a weird grinding scraping noise, no matter what gear its always in that range, cant reciprocate the noise while in neautral only while driving. speed is of no issue, no power loss or anything i think it could be a heat shield not entirely sure, and also im about to hit 100k what should i get changed on it or done as of maintenance? AC barely blows cold even after recharge. also im the second owner currently and so far ive gotten an oil change done every 3k, ran cleaners and also sea foamed so far. havent changed any other fluids except oil basically, can use all the advice i can get, thanks!

07 would be CVT, have you checked that? if it only does it in gear, check the trans.

as for a/c, might need a new compressor.

Under the car there are heat shields that cover the Y pipe. They come loose and make that sound in that rev range. you'll have to cut or just pull them off.

Did you have a shop check your AC system? I just had the top rubber return line replaced because of a leak. My car is the same age as yours.
