Default Rear Windows Dont work

Both back seat windows do not work anymore. One of them is slightly open and I cannot get it up even if I force it by hand while hitting the switch. We checked the fuse and it was not that? Are the motors on both windows gone at the same time?

Thanks for any help guys.

**child lock for windows isnt on!!**** SOOO MANY PEOPLE COME IN, and we just giggle and seeing there reacition is enough for them not to pay diag... but seriously

off the top of my head, these could be your potential causes

* master window switch took a crap on you.
* broken wires between body and door jam near the hindges. there will be a rubber boot covering the wires. driviers door is most common due to the one that get's open'd and closed most often.
* double check fuses* been caught few times in the trade. they look good until you pull them out and see if they have a continuity going through them.

did they both stop working at the same time?
do you feel the motor do anything at all when you hit the switches?

depending how much of a handy man you car. if you pull off your inner door trim and use a bulb for a quick check for power, ground AND also it will show you if the bulb turns on and is dim. you have power and ground, but not good amperage...

hope something i said helps.. if you need wiring diagrams, i can hook you up, pm me just leave year and body trim style/ se, sl, or w/e and ill get it the next day after getting your pm.

does the rear window switch work ?

up and down ? if so , then the front driver switch is bad.

my passenger rolls it up but not down.

switch is bad

edit : also I would suggest to everyone to spray some silcone on the rubbers and roll your windows up and down..

this is something I learn since my boss use to work for UK DOT ( or what they call MOT ) this is part of the serivce they do when the cars come in for inspection.

it keeps the rubber lubcrated and not harden and keeps the windows go smoothy up and down..

I know for my car that happened, then I found out I have relays on the driver side for both Driver and passenger side windows. Reason being both of my windows roll down auto and roll up auto. 1 touch. I'm not sure if yours have relays on it, I remember 1 time they rolled down, but didnt roll up, Could be a relay problem. Should check your FSM to see if your car uses relays to control the power for the windows.

Thank you guys, and I am the newbiest of Newbies, but the child lock is not on! LOL

It started where the windows would only go down but then not up... then it got to the point where nada, no engine noise, no movement at all,, and I couldn't even pull it up and I have a lot of force,,,

Could this possibly have anything to do with the fact that I had a RETARD do LED door handles [not the way ya have] and those are not working?

Anybody in NEW YORK willing to take a look at this? and what am i looking at money wise for repair? Best and worst case scenario?

Yup the rears work! So my front switch is bad or badly connected. I'll have to pull it apart and check it out. And silicone FTW, need to do that!

And BiiggMike23, sounds like something happened when the LED's went in the doors. Mr. Dolla can check you out if you don't feel comfortable tearing into it...nice to have Maxima family around!

cheers to that, forgot to mention that. honda civics are known very well for that, i personally do a body lube on all my doors latches, locks, hindges and silicone spray down the rubber seams down the windows, once a year just before the winter.

sometimes if the master switch is broken i have taken them appart and attempted to fix them works sometimes and not others. worst case is it's still broken and you still need a window switch. if mine ever takes a crap ill be sure to post up a do it yourself thread.
