Default Rattle Rattle, Passenger Side

I am in need of help finding and fixing a rattle in my car. The noise is coming from the panel between the front pass door and the rear door or from the rear passenger side door. Has anyone had a rattle in that general area? What's a good way of finding and fixing a rattle? Its been doing it for a couple of months but I think its getting worse. Thanks for any help!

theres a couple of things that come to my mind,

the infamous shield that rattles near the passenger side axle.

also If I remember correctly (IIRC) there a ground strap near the cat.

another thing to do is shake the exhaust, the OEM rubber/hangers get worn and that also could be rattle.

lastly there is a shield right above the cat /exhaust that runs down the the middle of the car, loose screws would cause it to rattle.

I wasn't able to get a good look underneath the car.. i am not small enough, lol. The noise seems to be coming from the door but I could be wrong.

Does it happen at certain RPM during acceleration?

You may need to pop the door panel and see if anything is banging around behind the panel.

I only notice the rattle at high speeds... I would say around 50mph +.

How does the door panel come off? I don't want to break anything.

Update: Rode in the passenger seat for the first time. Seems like the rattle is coming from the front pass door. Anywhere to get a step-by-step on removing the door panel?

Get some plastic tools or be real careful with a flat screwdriver. You'll remove the screw behind the little square panel at the door release handle, and then the two screws behind the arched piece of door trim. You'll use something flat to pry those off, carefully, then use it again to remove the door panel little by little. Start at one end them work your way to the other end.

Thanks Mando...you beat me to it! I've found it's easiest to remove the panel with the window down. Once you have the 3 screws out, start at the bottom corner of the door, and start popping the plastic clips loose. Once they are all loose, the door panel will still be supported at the top of the panel...where it rests in the window opening. Once all of the clips are loose, lift the panel straight up, out of the window channel.

Nismo1, can you elaborate a bit more on the "rattle by the passenger front axle"... What causes, where to look and how?

I'm getting that rattle too like CU2008, and it seems like an interior noise(s) by the door area....

well you guys may have a bolt loose inside the door ,

theres a heatshield that behind the rear manifold, i've seen a few bent out of shape and it starts to hit the cv axles (slapping it around )

sometimes the bolts come loose that holds the shield

I haven't been able to locate the rattle yet but I did notice one thing about it -- it only does it in hot weather. When I go to work in the mornings (around 70 degrees) and then last night around midnight (68 degrees) it didn't rattle and I was driving at the same speeds and on roads that I use daily.

SOLVED! When I went to remove the door panel to try and find the rattle I noticed that somehow the door panel on the passenger side came loose and the wire that runs to the light on the bottom of the door fell through the loose area at the bottom and would rattle up against the metal.

I should have checked that first but didn't really think it would get loose on its own.
