Default PISSED! Trans Problems.

Had my car at a shop for the last week. Got into an accident(posted a thread about it) Had to get a new bumper, fender, bumper reinforcement, radiator condenser and radiator support. Leaking anti-freeze cause smoke to come from the engine bay. These were the ONLY problems caused by the accident. The car drove perfectly fine, i only drove it about 3 times after the accident( 2 of witch were to mechanic shops) I also had them replace my power steering hose as I had a leak and head motor mount.

After promising me it'd be ready day after day I finally go in today. The car is STILL leaking power steering fluid even after they changed hoses, in fact more now than before. There was smoke coming from just under the engine cover. The guy claims it will go away, that the smoke is due to new oil(bs). Then when I go to drive it around the block the car won't accelerate although i have the pedal kissing the floor mat. The Service Engine Soon and VDCoff lights are both on(he claims those will go away, more bs). The car is apparently stuck in 5th gear(5AT) I tried to downshift myself, wont budge. When I go from Park to Drive or vice versa the car jerks violently. I bring it back and tell him about it his response is "well the transmission must be gone" he chuckled. I had to do some quick soul-searching because I almost punched him in the face, I didn't think it was funny. It's freezing cold and my only ride home refuses to go above 20mph.

The transmission was completely fine before I brought it in. If my tranny is shot ill cry. I love this car so much, im only 19 and i honestly cant afford a new tranny if thats what it comes down to.

Oh, and I have the tensioner rattle at start up to top it all off.

Kill me now.

sounds like a cam positioning sensor thats causing your car to go into safety mode. most likely bank 1

do a ecu reset and if the codes codes come back get a read out from auto zone to report back.

How do I go about resetting the ECU? I'll definitely follow your advice. Told the mechanic he's fixing my car because that's not how I brought it in. IF the ECU reset doesn't work step two is to have the sensor installed? if that fails step 3 is autozone.

Thanks guys. CJX i got your contact info, i just called the mechanic shop. They said they fixed the power steering hose line. I'll let you know the situation later and whether its fixied when i head over there. My car has been there over a week now. Its kind of ridiculous, the rate in which they fix cars. There are mechanics that would've had my car out in 2 days, no problems. smh never will i come here again. I guess you get what you pay for.
