Default Painting The Black Fog Lamp Trim 07-08

i haven't seen this question asked in here but if i missed it my apologies.

has anyone painted the black trim around the fog lamps on the 07-08? to my eye they just look strange on my car, which is precision grey/w40. painting it black would be logical, painting it the same color as the car would be too although i worry a little bit about stone chips and debris. it also seems like i would need to totally paper and tape the front of the car because the last time i had the bumper off (putting in some of maxpower's hellatious hid's) it didnt seem like the black trim would pop off.

any advice, or am i being dumb about not digging the black on my grey car?
thanks in advance.

iirishsamuraii has his painted the same color of his car, which is precision grey like yours and it looks freaking great. He also had a custom lip molded. I plan to have my fog covers painted when i get my lip installed

Tom,

Silly question, but if you are thinking of painting them black, then why bother? I kind of like mine black, they break up the front clip, just a little...

hey don
its just my two choices. with black i don't hafta keep treating them to stay black...they get...well...not as black with time. then i thought i might like them painted the same color as the car, which is what i am leaning towards. so its up in the air. i think im goin with same color as the car though.

next questiono is...can i take the bumper off and unscrew the black plastic trim after i remove the fogs? i would rather paint them off the car than on...if that's possible.

Tom,

If the black is fading, there is a product out called "Back to Black". It's a rubber/plastic trim restorer. I've used it, and it works pretty well.
