Default P0420 after o2 sensor fuse was put in.

08 3.5SL. When I got the car it didn't have the fuse for the o2 sensor.....long story short one fuse and 2 new sensors later I have a p0420 code. I've searched and there are many threads about it but none have the end result besides seeing cayman. I don't want to spend the money if this is some other small issue I'm over looking. Yesterday I tried that cataclean shit. Is there a way to know if it's just "blocked inside the cat? I HAVE NO SIGNS OF NORMAL CAT ISSUES. I.e. rotten egg smell, bad mpg, hard cranking, or loss of responsoveness or power. My scanner is showing the same code is pending but I have not run it all the way out.

a similar case with me, but i let it go on too long..had that code for a awhile. Most likely the converter is starting to go. Bank one is usually the smaller one at the rear which is apparently the most common to go first.

in my case it turned out to be a converter failure after a minor internal oil leak turned into a bad oil burn and destroyed the cat. However that may not be your case. It is more likely the converter failing. I suspect my converter was starting to fail as the check engine light was intermittent, but the car was sitting for months and drove it with the fuse in the wrong spot. It just escalated it faster.

Do you happen to know which cat will trigger the 0420 codes?
