Default Need Help Removing Cup Holder

doess anyone know how to remove the top of the cup holder in an 04 maxima? im looking to paint the cheap wood grain to a different color

IIRC, i think thats all one piece that can be lifted up with a pry tool. I think there are clips underneth that hold it down

I think you would need to remove the center console to get the clips underneath it that we can't see. I know it doesn't pry out. I had the console out the other day wiring my FM modulator. I wish I would have though to look for the sake of knowing. Sorry! It may spring in to come out but not sure.

Best bet is to take the whole lid off and mask off the underside. For that you will need to destruct the whole center console.
The lid itself (woodgrain portion) is actually 2 piece, however, I believe the 2 pieces are glued together, so you'll want to juust take out the door.

the whole entire thing has to come off. the armrest, everything. its a pain in the ass. easier with 2 ppl
