Default My Car wont start? 8(

Ok so yesterday we got hit with a really bad storm. I was stuck driving in it. Now i really was planning on shortening my CAI. but i hadnt done it yet. so needless to say i went through a pretty big puddle and the car stalled out. i pushed it under an over pass and waited a bit strated it back up no problem but i had to keep my foot on the gas or it would bog out... driving home i could not go over like 13 mph or it would buck like a raging bull... got it home sat over night and today it just keeps cranking but wont start... Do you think my engine is shot or just needs to dry more? please help. i had to ride my go kart to work today 8).

Pull all the spark plugs and spin the motor over and make sure all the the moisture is out of the cylinders. Then either blow off all the spark plugs or replace with new and try again. Hopefully it's just moisture in the cylinders fouling the plugs out

Try pulling the MAF sensor out of the intake tube and clean it with some MAF cleaner that you can find at the parts store. Simply spray the shit out of it and sling the excess off and let it sit out for a few minutes before reinstalling.

ok so they took off the CAI the filter was drenched, it starts up now but when you bring the rpms up it shakes a little bit. We pushed it next door into the paint booth and cranked up the heat. its gonna sit there for a little and dry out. the mechanic mentioned chanhging spark plugs which i really hope isnt the case because i just paid for a tune up like 2 weeks ago

Better to pay for/do that job than be out a whole hydro-locked motor.

The only thing custom about that Setup will be the bill from your mechanic when you are going to develop electrical gremlins.

I hope you watch a few vids on YouTube on shrinktubing/soldering and tying into fused circuits.... I'm Not being an A**, just trying to help.

The Max has a quite a few highly sensitive electrical components running of of ECM, BCM and AC/meter amp.

Dizzzzz.... I love that you take everything that they say right in. you are soo willing to learn. alot of people are just like " go away."

I love this place because people are willing to help if you are willing to listen to what they have to tell you and if you do take the advice, they will continue to help. Its the ones that repeatedly disregard any input they recieve and end up screwing themselves and come back like 'wtf did i do wrong' only to find out that they just did it their way and were like 'eff you' to all information they got from the forum.

You are doin well with your projects, keep it up! and keep the ear out with these guys.. if they don't know, they won't respond - so if you get an answer, its most likely from experience.

The BEST way to do your automotive wiring is by soldering/heat-shrinking. The next best way (in my opinion) is to us butt connectors. The better butt connectors you can heat shrink the ends after you crimp them...those are the good ones. You should not be using the "twist-locks"...those are for home wiring.

Also, in an absolute pinch, I'll use any wire color that I have for what I need. That being said, I always try to stay away from using any red wire on the negative side...for me, it just serves to confuse me!
