Default My AC is blowing hot!

Having issues. The AC blows hot as hell on max. I checked the freon, initially it was super high... I released the pressure and then refilled it to normal. Still blows hot. But, it still reads the same as when I charged it, so that would mean no leak... I'm assuming... I'm going to do the AC self-check when I get a few minutes at work

The AC compressor is bad, get a new one and make sure you get a warranty with it. I replaced mine and it went 6 months later and had no warranty with it so I had to get another one

1. Check to see if compressor engages. if it doesn't maybe fuse, or pressure switch.
Sometimes it could be a blockage in the system.
2. maybe condenser is not as efficient as it used to be. try running cold water on the condenser while its on. if it cools the gas enough back into a liquid form to blow cold air that's pretty much it.
3. evaporator orfice tube may not spray the liquid freon into a gas which is the process that makes it cold.
compressor is pricey so resort to it as a last possible cause. It's worth diagnosing it properly.

that looks like the AC compressor is completely bypassed. not even driven by the belt. that's pretty much the culprit. but you also have to see why it was bypassed in the first place. maybe the compressor was no good before. Did you just get the car?

Yes it is and yes I did. I upgraded from an 01

Is there supposed to be any play in the wheel when it's disconnected? It's extremely hard to turn... Meaning I can't. Is that normal?

with the AC off, its suppose turn freely, with the A/C on, its normal if its hard to turn by hand. if it is seized you would need to get another one, $300-$400 for a rebuilt or new one
