If you have a spare key at home and you're using the valet key, what's the issue?

If you still want a regular key, then get a blank one off ebay, get it cut at a local shop and have the dealer program it. The dealer will need ALL keys to do the programming and it'll run around $100.

I bought 2 new keys from eBay and had them cut and programed at the dealer for $45. And I didn't take ALL my keys, just one. Why would they need all of them?

Every dealer in CA that i've spoken to always recommended having all keys programmed at the same time. SOMETIMES, when you program a key while the other is not done at the same time, that absent key doesn't get recognized by the car anymore. It doesn't happen often, but it does randomly.

I"m glad they did it for $45. That's cheaper than most dealers I've dealt with.

Good info to know. I don't believe I've tried the "absent" key yet. I guess I better and see if it still works!
