Default Fuse In Battery Terminal Keeps Blowing

My car was in an accident.... I drove the car around plenty of time before I.brought it to the shop.... Now when you try to start the car the fuse that is located in the battery terminal blows out.and then once the.car.shut off you cannot start it again without replacing the terminal or the fuse in the terminal and jumping the car..... The shop doesn't know what is.causing the short.... They think its.the.starter..... What I would like to know is if I purchase a.grounding kit from our fellow member and replace my wirEs...would it fix the problem?????

Can you take a pic of which fuse keeps blowing? There are few of them on that terminal. If it's the separated one in the front, that's the alternator fuse. Make sure the power wire in the front of the alternator is not pinched or other wires touching.

How bad was the accident? I would think that maybe a wire just got pinched somewhere in the front end

U need tomfigure out the cause first those grounding kits are essentially just adding isolated grounds to your major components it won't solve the problem most likely

Front end collision ?

IIRC that Fuse is connected to the Alternator,

Disconnected the Postive Terminal

If you look at the alternator you will see the red rubber cover, the wire maybe touching the alternator housing itself, bend it back just a slight.

This has happen to my 5th gen,

Try that first , its a HOT wire grounding itselfs ,

I will go there today and try it.... The only thing that was changed in the front was the right headlight.... The damage was rear end.... I had to get a while left clip welded on... The fuse that keeps blowing is on the positive wire right in that little glass box..... Thank you all for your suggestions

sounds like the starter solenoid internally twisted itself causing the short
