Default Can't Remove O2 Sensor To Save My Life!

So I've been getting the p1283 code for the Sensor 1 Bank 2 O2 sensor. Cant get it out to save my life. Saturated it in PB blaster this morning, still wont budge. Gonna head to Walmart and see if they have a breaker bar, leverage may be why i cant get it out. Using a short socket wrench with the O2 socket, barely any room. Got quoted 104 to replace my O2, theres no way in hell I'm paying that when I can pop the hood AND SEE the sensor right in my face. The only problem is unscrewing it. It's kicking my @$$. If the breaker bar doesn't work, is there anything else I could try? :-/ Was hoping to save up that 100 and something dollars to get my AC fixed.

A breaker bar would be a good shot at it, when I was removing my struts and shocks my front strut toe link was stuck on there because my mechanic tightened them extremely hard when he changed my springs and all I had was regular house tools, so I used my breaker bar and trying to remove that bolt was a pita with no room but I got it to work, I'm only 18 so I'm damn sure you have more strength then me to take out that sensor, if that doesn't work try going somewhere local to rent an air compressor with the tool needed shouldn't be too much, just make sure not to strip anything

Really...all that hassel for 100.00. Wouldnt be a lot easier and less stressful to just pay the money to have it done right? What if you break something, that might double the price...just my .02.

Well im sorry my job doesnt pay me well enough to just cough up 100 bucks for the little jobs. 100 bucks is a lot to have that sensor replaced since its RIGHT IN MY FACE and besides, I like doing the work myself, how else am I going to learn? I enjoy working on my car. I feel great when its done and I can say I did it.

24" breaker bar. But you gotta have 1/2 inch drive sockets to fit it. 3/8 drive will just snap right off. And don't be afraid to slide a metal pipe over the breaker bar handle for more leverage. It's how I got mine off. I can't even believe you would attempt to remove it with a short socket wrench in the first place.

Where in the toolbox does a Coors fit? The drawers are too small.
