Default Aftermarket Z Parts On Your Maxima??

So I was at the usual tuesday night car hangout and i was wondering "Hey, since the maxima and the 350z (also G35) have the same engine (VQ35DE). If you wanted to build it some what (pistons, Rods, etc..) couldnt you just order Z/G parts for it?..."

since im the only one with a 6th gen around in my area, nobody knew.. you would assume so, but does anyone know? Or has anyone done such a thing.

I think its a worthy topic to look into. I'll try to find a site with both Z/G and maxima internals to match part number

any feedback welcome!!!

I was wondering the same thing a while back. When I had my G35 I found out I could put a Z tube on the stock intake and tune it up a little bit.

Here is can be used from a G35/350z

Rear Struts

Pistons , Lower intake manifold , Rods , crank, And I belive the Heads are the same.

No benifits at all , UNLESS you use HR valve springs and HR/RevUp Cams,

To use the HR headgasket , you also need to mod the coolant passage on the block.

Whats differnt as far as engine ?

Timming chain covers, Upper Oil pan , Accessories , coolant pipe. Upper Intake manifold.

The Block itself.

Maxima guys have been looking into this for a while now and from what I read... NO, no 350z parts are worth buying and installing in your maxima.

Most of the parts are different and wont work. The parts that will work and have the same part number, are the same part. So what would be the point?

What are you trying to accomplish? If you are spending money on an engine build, I think you would want to go aftermarket anyway...

Im sure nizmo will be in here at some point with some more info

I was referring to aftermarket, guess the title suggest different. can you change it oh great site mod?

nizmo was answering part of the question. thank you nizmo

I guess a more detail question would have been, if i was looking for an aftermarket part, that i couldnt find under the sites (any site) maxima section, FOR THE MOST PART, wouldnt i just be able to buy one from a 350z/G35 section? seems reasonable, but as nizmo stated, some parts are the same, some arent..

i figured same motor just about, same parts Somewhere out there

change the title to "AFTERMARKET Z PARTS ON YOUR MAXIMA"

My RC 440cc injectors came from a 350z.

You can also use the same Walbro 255 Aftermarket Fuel Pump. Its the same part number.

Asking the question "Z Parts on my maxima" and "Aftermarket Z Parts on my maxima" are two COMPLETELY different questions.

Now that you have changed the question completely Im sure you will get different answers.

First off i give you the title, youre right, im wrong.

secondly if you read my first post, i said "build it some what". whoever thinks building a motor with factory parts is a moron, thats not even building anything, thats called replacing..

I appreciate your info, thank you

Before you commit to such , what mods do you have now ? you need supporting mods , (intake, headers/exhaust ) and aftermarket piggyback or standalone ECU.

There are a lot of different company's that offer N/A cams from mild to wild.

be prepare to pay X-Amount ( 500-700 $ ) on INSTALL alone.

Well almost everything on my car is custom.. my cousin owns a welding shop so i got my headers and straight pipe done with universal greddy muffler and custom intake i put together with a kinetix intake manifold.. other than that no ecu or chip or any electronics at that. i heard of a software called "up rev" but still looking into it.. any tuning software in mind?
