Default AC Problem

Ok,
Saturday i crunk up my car and turned the ac system on. and all of a sudden the whole dashboard started vibrating really bad and making a crazy noise and it starting smelling really bad. It smells like Sea World fish aquarium. lol
the vibration is coming from under the glove box. Has anyone had this problem? It's a 2008 Max. I can only turn my ac to low speed. I'm wondering if a fan blade broke.

Not sure the exact problem, but it sounds like an issue with the fan motor...it is located under/behind the glove box. I would think it's a bearing, unless you stuck something in there to damage a fan blade.

dont own a 08 but i had a issue where there is a rubber line , the excess water suppose to drip down the floor pan and instead was flooding back into the carpet which had a stink rotten egg smell.

it could be clogged but as far as the viberation this could be the blower motor as stated

A really bad smell could also be the heater core, but I haven't seen many/any heater core issues among our 6th gen community.

Ok so i found out the problem. My mechanic took the glove box out and opened up the fan box. And it was a damn dead rat in there!!!!!! Now how the hell it got in there beats the hell out of me. Now my damn car smells and i cleaned the guts up and the remains of the rat out. Today i'm going to buy a new ac filter and just pray the smell goes away.

WOW...that's pretty disgusting! I would got to the passenger cowl area, and spray some Lysol very liberally into the cabin air vent opening...with the blower fan on! Your car will smell like Lysol for a little while, but it beats the alternatives!!!

Wow that's a story I haven't heard before. At least there's nothing mechanically wrong with the car. Scrub that bad boy down good!
