Default 6th Gen Motor Mount With Wire Durrability Improvement.

Hello my fello Maxers. I have a 2005 with the electronic motor mount. It is my understanding in this great state of Arizona that I must have the front mount installed and operational to pass emissions inspection. I bought a DEA and tore through it in a month. (yes I should have just bought a daeler mount)
But my question is this. When I buy a new mount, cant I just fill that little gap in the top with window weld to prevent the mount from flexing up and theraby pulling apart on the bottom in the first place?
I searched but found nothing concerning this. If no one has done it I will give it a shot and report my result.

"Hello my fello Maxers" I had to laugh we don't say that here. I don't fully understand the question.

How in the world have you torn through a new engine mount in a month? Are the rest of the mounts completely worn that the engine only relied on the new one?

I replaced all engine mounts of my 6th gens from ebay for about $250 for a set of 4/each vehicle. Haven't had issues at all, and they're my daily drivers.

I just had the timing chains done and they said the rest of the mounts were good. However, for $250 I may as well replace them. Its torn on the driver side just under the center bolt and passanger side a little toward the middle. I suspect the engine is twisting sideways.

At the top of the front (and rear I think) motor mount bushing is a gap. Its where the Motor Mount Inserts go. When the motor mount tears and flexes up, that gap is where it goes. So I wonder if I fill that gap with window weld if it will then last forever without adding vibration because the lower half is still rubber.

This is one. This set is for 5 spd tiptronic.

Your front and rear should have sensors with them. The tranny mount should look exactly like what's pictures. The 4 spd has a different tranny mount.

Thank you so much. Yes it is the 5 spd tiptronic. Actually, I haven't seen the rear mount or inspected the tranny mount, but it a 2005 5 spd with wires so. I cant believe they give a 5 year warranty Every place I've checked is 1 year or less. Gotta love that.

On the bright side, I will now have spare front and back mounts if I decide to do the Raceline thing.

So, do I have to lower the sub frame or is this do able on jack stands in the drive way? I know I know, look in the tech files

No problem bro.

Yes, those mount might fit your car. Do you have the 5 spd tiptronic tranny or 4 spd? Either way, eBay will have a set for your car.

As for labor.. You can do it yourself if you have power tools. You can probably do the passenger side mount, but even in that work, you're better off using power tools lol. My mechanic charged me $250-300 as total labor for all mounts + $230 for all 4 mounts, so about $480-530 total everything.
