Default 2007 Maxima Backup Sensor/Sonar

Hi all,

Second thread for the day...

Bought a Maxima from my friend that has been under routine maintenance - to the tee!

He said every time he gets the car washed, the rear backup sensor (sonar?) goes out, until it dries off. Any thoughts on what might cause that?

Check connections n wiring. Sounds like water getting in the connector.

How do I get to the connections? Was out there for 30 minutes looking at and I'm not seeing anything. Thru the trunk? underneath?

I think you may need to remove the rear bumper.

I believe you have to access them from under the car, or by removing the bumper cover.
