Default 100 Watt H3 Bulbs?

Just wondering what wattage bulb everyone is using for their fogs. I usually use 55 watt but when I got home from NAPA, I realized that I bought 100 watt bulbs. Should I try them or return them?

Yep, halogen. They were $14 for the pair.

Those will burn up your fog light harness and potentially cause damage. I would be careful. We have 55W fogs that were designed for the car. Most are 35W and 55W can burn those harnesses up over a short period of time. I would return them unless you have a seperate harness built for 100W lighting.

I guess the only real concern is heat. As long as it doesnt get so hot that it melts your housing Id say go for it. It should be pretty bright.

I wouldn't use them, it's not just wiring you need to worry about. The fog light projectors are tiny, the heat generated from 55W bulbs is probably already too much for them. 100W will generate even more heat and you'll probably end up burning the reflective surface of the projector bowls before long.

They did the same with me at AutoZone the other day, gave me the 100Ws, only reason I haven't installed them yet is because I've been busy, good I seen this thread and I'm about to exchange them for the 50Ws

WTH are you trying to light up, a house? LoL stick to 55w MAX.. Even that I wouldn't do. Get regular 35w bulbs and save yourself a shortage or overheating, causing fires.

Alright so I returned them and bought the 55w. They didn't have any 35w in stock. Neither did Advance or Autozone. Anyways I'll just order some online so when these burn out I'll have them ready.
