Default 04-06: Did You Know? (Key Fob vs. Settings)

Let me first say if this is not the right place I apologize but I just discovered this and a search returned nada...

Did you know that if you hold both the lock and unlock buttons on your key fob it silences your horn when locking and lights from blinking upon unlock even if you have them set that way in the settings. If you do it again it restores the functions of horn flashing and lights blinking. I had no clue and I thought somethign went wrong when the car stopped blinking lights on unlock as I had it set and the horn would not sound when locking using the key fob.

Thanks and hope this helps someone!

Latinismo,
Check out this thread. The main topic was mirrors but scan through the 3 pages of posts and you will find more information about the operation of the windows with the key fob. Also you will find a link to a company that sells after market components that you may find interesting.

Did You Know? (Mirrors)

I knew about the windows. I also read on that kit. i am sourcing the elite package window switches right now for all four windows. I am jealous and want that. I just didn'[t know the key fob would override settings from the dash of the car for lights blinking and the horn. This forum just keeps helping me learn more and I wanted to give something back.

^^That's what he said!! Yeah the lock on the fob won't roll back up. That requires somethign else. But using the key does work.

Hey guys, did you know you can roll the windows up/down by using the switch on the door? smh

me ?

As for what others has said , must be the SL and Elite SE are differnt, not sure why some of you guys can roll the windows up and I cant.

I know theres a module but thats beyond the point, Why would Nissan have the option for differnt models ... there has to be something within the programming.

I'm an '05 SL w Navi and DPP, no rolling up w fob.

I know that the '06 SL w Navi and DPP would flip the drivers side mirror down when in reverse if you had the power mirror switch on that side; that did not work on my '05.

I know that the '06 SL w Navi and DPP would flip the drivers side mirror down when in reverse if you had the power mirror switch on that side; that did not work on my '05.

I tried it on an 05, no navi, and it worked only when the key is used to lock/unlock. The fob only worked to roll down windows, not roll them up.
