No. You only need to re-calibrate the needles if you open the cluster and remove the needles. You will be fine just unplugging the speedo.

I love these cheap mods. Another one is to go to Oznium.com, maybe spend 20.00-30.00 for some per wired LEDs and have some fun with those. Mirrors,door handles,cup holders, etc.

you dont need to take them off to paint them bro, just use blackout tape if you plan on painting them black. theres a thread about it here on the org
