Did autocross with the maxima since I lowered it see how it went, got 5 runs in around the track today had a blast doing it and seeing some of the other cars. best time is posted. This was in the novice class since it was my first time with the nissan. The time was compared to all the other novice drivers. cars in the group were, Nissan Maxima, 350Z, Mazda Miata (7), VW gulf, VW GTI (3), Camero SS, and BMW M4. this was everyone's first or second time doing Auto-X. It was a pavement track on the backside of a mall. The pavement was very slick and there was not much grip to the course as well as it had rained the night before. It started off with a small strait away the a wide left turn exiting and the a sharp right then a fast left going around a tighter left turn and entering into a 5 turn slalom and then the same first wide left turn and exiting into another left turn with a cutback right to get to the finish the course. During my few runs I learned a lot about my car. with how It turns with the Eibach springs put on. The ride was much stiffer and corners were much easier to make since the car didn't sway as much around each cone with a lower center of gravity. The car handed very nice through the course with some tires spin around the two wide left turns trying to get the best line. I turned off the VDC off after my second run and my time actually Decreased I found that you can feel and handle the car better when its off since it shuts off the power when you slide.

The time doesn't mean much without knowing what you were up against and the type of track you were on. It says you were 11 of 15, is that the class you ran or over all? 5 some seconds from #1 again class or overall.

I think it would be better if you said how it did compared to stock? How was turn in? How responsive was it? What was the grip level like?

Hey that's awesome! Always wanted to do this too. I would highly recommend some more suspension mods.

1. Front tower strut bar.
2. End link upgrade (Racingline)
3. Rear sway bar.

5. Bigger project is a front sway bar like the Altima SE-R has, sorry don't know much about this one.

btw Progress springs will be better for this than Eibachs. Fix you time slip pic and post up any other pics you have of the event.

CJX is making a front strut tower brace??? I thought he was just talking about it, I didn't know he actually did it.

Anyway that's awesome! I really want to take my car auto crossing, I just need a full weekend to get almost 100 miles from where I live to do it. For some reason SCCA doesn't hold their auto cross events anywhere near Phoenix

Oh yeah #4 is essentially a strut tower brace with out using the strut towers. It's like KCMAXX's bars. Just ties two ends of a big hole together and adds stiffness.

ok thanks guys for the information ill start looking into all those parts and seeing what i can do this summer since ill be making bank in-between semesters in college. And when pics get put on FB from the event ill post them back on here. I also updated the time photo. so its the right way now

Yeah time photo is much better. Check out the classifieds here and on the big Maxima.org, people always selling stuff like that.

Deus was a big Auto-X driver in his Maxima, many of his posts will be helpful.

Sounds good and all but auto x with a FWD cant be that much fun. Pulling out of corners with a RWD is a lot more fun that you don't know until you try.

Add some KYB GR2's to those Eibachs and you'll notice a huge difference from the stock struts and shocks. It won't affect your daily driveability like many ppl think. I love my daily driver setup. However, my y-pipe scrapes every now and then on speed bumps. Whenever I see speedbumps, slow and low is the only way to go.
