Default Tire Shine

With it being summertime and some of you doing tire shine everyday. (even if you don't, IMO no car wash job is complete unless you put something on the tires.) I thought I would bring this up again.

I'm still claiming this is the fastest way to put on the tire shine. Especially since I switched over to Meguiars Hot Shine. My old thread: Fastest Method For Tire Shine Application

Foam on brush, brush swipe the tire. Done.

Any other good recommends on tire products? You got a better application method, (not curved sponges )put it here.

These types of brushes work waaaay better than sponges. If you havenít tried on brush I would highly recommend it.

I am normally a big Eagle One fan but I donít care for their gel.

This is the best stuff Ive ever used.

SoCal Wax Shop - Venom Tire & Plastic Dressing

They are local to me so I can just go in there and buy it,but they do mail order as well.

This stuff literally works for over 2 weeks. I put it on and never have to touch it until next time I wash. It doesn't sling and it doesn't turn your tires brown.

Oh yeah , brown tires are not uncommon when using tire shine, especially the cheaper stuff.

Love to smell my tires when I drive!

Actually I am the same way with their leather products, smells good. NXT Insane is that a foam. I am really liking the foams lately.

Okay, like I said am a fan of Meguiars, so I bought some of the NXT Insane Shine.

Review:

1. It does smell good.
2. Goes on fairly easily. (Not quite as fast as Hot Shine but pretty quick.)
3. Spray field is good, not to much overspray.
4. Looked great after application
5. Longevity.........tbd

So far I like it

I have been using Tire Wet with very good results.

The foams leave discoloration marks on my driveway. You must rinse them off immediately, which requires moving the car so it doesn't get splashed.

Spray foam on brush, not on driveway.

This is what I've been using as well, then I switched to gel hoping it will stay on the tire better than the spray...I hate that I haven't been able to find a good way to avoid the tire shine to splash all over the car when I drive, even after I let it sit over night, as soon as I take off again it will splash everywhere and I tried really really thin coats as well but no difference so guess what...I get to my destination, I park, grab my rag, wipe all four sides and sometimes even the doors, throw the rag back inside the car and then leave and lock the door as I walk off LOL

LOL that's why I said that way, but seriously Foam on the brush is still the fastest way I've found to get the tire shine on without over spray on the wheels, fenders, driveways etc.

So even the NXT slung on your fenders? I really didn't get any tire sling from the NXT, it seems pretty "tacky" plus it sat over night. I'll check again when I go outside. Even the Mequiars Hot Shine foam seems to stick pretty well. Of course I don't spray it on the tires directly. That's probably the problem, its to hard to control exactly how much is getting on the tire and keep it even. If I spray it on the tire, I still swipe it with the brush.

You must be doing something wrong. Are you diluting the stuff?

I have never had any "Sling" regardless if I drive immediately or let it completely dry.

That is weird.

That is weird.
Sling comes from a heavy gel type of tire shine and shows up on the fenders and sometimes on the doors. Usually from over-application or not letting it dry thoroughly. It happens to me sometimes too.

Well here's the before picture! One coat of NXT

And here's the after picture! I drove 10 miles from my house to work within city limits and that's just the beginning, imagine what it look like after a whole day of driving about 50 miles running errands! I don't know why but I know it can't be over spraying because I tried it all, from foam to spray to gel, from letting it dry over night to driving off right after an application! I'm doing "something" wrong!

Lol @SH@Y86!!

Yeah, when you use a heavy amount of a gel tire shine product thats gloppy... EWE. And dont try to wipe that off..... go right to the car wash. (not the nxt) It greases up the panels and is jus a hot mess. But ive had it spray down the whole side of my car... So much for trying to 'air' dry what they werent able to get with the towels.

Nxt lightly, twice. No problems. Endurance-neva a issue.

Yeah that happens to me once in a while. But it never actually happened with the Hot Shine foam. So for the NXT didn't sling either (brushed it on) and it dried over night but I drive about 28miles highway and get full use out of the headers so maybe you are using a little too much? But I actually don't think you're doing bad, it's only a little sling, so you are pretty close to just right imo.

Oh one other thing, do you put in on wet tires? I've started giving them a quick wipe to get the excess off then tire shine.

I always dry the tires. I think its pointless to put it on wet tires... Whats the spray/shine going to adhere to?

That's just me... And every car wash i go to.

Default Re: Tire Shine

I hate the usual tire shine sling. The stuff I use does not sling at all.
