Default Rim & tire size help?!

I'm thinking about putting some (19'' x 8.5'') Verde parallax rims on my 2006 maxima. What size tire should I go with??? 245/40R/19W is recommended by CARiD.com, but seems too fat. I want a smooth and sporty ride at the same time. If anybody knows anywhere I can get a good rim & tire package online please let me know. Also how high should I go in rim size without harming my transmission or messing up anything?? Give me your suggestions... Thanks.

Have you tried tirerack.com? I searched your wheel size for our cars and they also suggested a 245/40/19 tire size. I guess this is to keep the oem diameter of the wheel and tire in order to prevent any harm to the transmission.

By fat you mean wide or tall sidewall?
My 20s had 245/35 on them and they were rubber bands.
Stock are 245/45r18.
You will be fine with the 245/40.
