245/55 is too much for 18s. I'd do the stock tire size 245/45. I say that because when you use thicker tires than what keeps the height from ground to top of tire proportional to stock, it will throw off your mileage on your car. That means whatever your odometer reads will not be actual miles

245/40/18 fits well with the stock wheels too!

But on another note, @Deadbolt: so in terms of trying to get better mileage would it be more efficient to get tire profile that is bigger or smaller?

Can you turn your wheels full lock to lock without rubbing? I didn't know anyone could run a 55 stock

Well the reason he can run 55 series tires is cause his width of the tires is 215 instead of 245 it compensates when the tires have weight on them. If I remember correctly might be wrong it's to early to be thinking.

A friend at work said he has winter tires off an 03 maxima he used to own...215/60/16. said I should be able to use them for 2 more winters...will they fit?
How are you gonna fit a 16" wheel tire on an 18" wheel? It won't fit. Worst case, you can always go buy some cheap brand or even used tires for winter.

Is he giving you the wheels with the tires? IIRC 16" wheels may not CLEAR the caliper set up on a 6th gen

Of course they wont fit 18 inch rims. I got quoted at $1130 with installation for a set of hankook i pikes from a local tire shop...Ill probably end up going with those.
