The only one I ran into is if its hot I was gettin this att on th way screen and that would cut the music down low but thats because of the unit being hot so you just have to turn the ac on for a min or two for it to cool down and everything would be back to normal

Here's my Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD I had in it for a week. I took it out yesterday and put in a Kenwood DDX-6019 that I just traded my old Pioneer AVIC-N2 flip-out for on Friday. I'll get a pic of the Kenwood when I go out and wire up my backup cam.

You need a dash kit, the Metra harness and I think an antenna adapter. There's a thread with the list of things you need and links somewhere on here. Pretty much after you disconnect the stock radio, connect the Metra harness then solder/crimp/whatever the wires from the new head unit harness to the metra harness and I think that's it

When I tested out all my wiring the back speakers worked then once I had everything buttoned up I noticed they stopped working

I am gonna have to wrap everything in the center to make it match, the color difference is killing me. Has anyone done anything neat with all the obsolete controls above the stereo? I am trying to think of some neat things to do, maybe some sort of light set up for all my edm haha

Quick question. What did you use behind the screens to hold them in place?

Hey guys! I'm from jersey and need to add a double din unit - but my '04 SL has a bose sound system. I was told by an audio tech that it is not compatible and I would have to switch out the system. Is that true? Are there any double din kits I can order that are bose compatible? And I've seen some of you were able to use the top screen (with those ugly stock orange color letters) as a back up camera screen. That's what I need! If you're in the tri-state area, I can come to you. All help is greatly appreciated thanks!Click the image to open in full size.

Hey all. Noob here. Is there any way to hide or remove the old stereo controls after you install an aftermarket double din?

snowflake....i have an 08 SL with Bose, and I swapped out everything in my car. The only factory wiring I did, was use the power, ignition and ground wires for my h/u. I ran all new speaker wire from my amps to each of my speakers, bypassing the factory wiring. Hope that helps

no that is not true L A R R Y. you just have to get a radio harness that bypasses to turn on the bose speakers or it wont sound. it wont work with the regular harness but you can try if you have the regular harness by connecting the blue remote wire from the harness to the stereo blue remote wire. I have a double din pioneer screen with my stock bose speakers and a system and sounds good to me. hope this helps

I should have been more clear in my previous statements. I am not using the stock BOSE amps at all. I've replaced everything in the car with aftermarket bits. I have a Clarion h/u with three Linear Power amps all tied in with Mosconi 6to8 DSP. I've also replaced the front speakers to a three way active setup with 6.5's in the doors, 3.5" mids in the kicks, and tweetets in the sails

Still looking for ideas to block off or hide the stock stereo controls. I just don't like the idea of non functional buttons on the dash. Any suggestions?

I got http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...H-X2700BS.html
When I ordered them they cost around $240, black Friday.

I run Frosgate RCA's, this amp around $150 (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...TX-3000.1.html)
, and 1/0 gauge frosgate power and ground.

First time, the internal amp blew in the radio. I shipped it back to sonicelectronix and just waiting to have time to reconnect it.

Hey guys, I have a 04 max with Navigation and Bose, I'm thinking about upgrading to a pioneer head unit. My concern is, will my Navigation still work with this upgrade?
