So I'm looking towards my next project and I'd like to do demon eyes. I've done extensive searching and found out some info,but nothing Maxima specific. The one thing I did find was from @joecurr. He said that you can remove the projector with out opening the head lights, can any one confirm this?
I think @ hmax did this...any pointers? What led's did you use? How did you mount the lights? Any one that has done this, I'd apreciate any help... By the way, I found a place in LA that does this, they charge almost 700.00....

You can take off the projector on the oem HID projectors without opening. I'm doing mine probably tomorrow.

Just for anyone who's curious, you can remove the projectors without opening on the 04-06 too.

What LEDs are you using? Is this some thing you can do by just removing the projector?

I ordered them from oznium. I don't plan on opening my headlights to do it. It's just 4 screws holding the projector. For the non oem hid projectors you need to open the headlights, take of the screws (one is a pita), and unclip it(also a pita).

Xenon I know for sure. Not 100% sure about halogen, but I think so.

Not sure. You'd definitely have to open the headlights for the fog projector, it won't come out the back.

This is very simple to do. Just time consuming.

it is by chance i am checking.to answer your question,you have to bake open the lights to remove the projector, it cannot be done otherwise on halogen lights. Once that is done, place led lights behind the projector and replace into housing. I have RGB demon eyes, so I can choose the color anytime, plus they strobe which is pretty cool. This is not an easy project but if Dstruct and Hero and do it, so can you, lol Last edited by Hmax; 08-23-2012 at 07:20 AM. |

This sounds pretty simple,look great to but IMHO the demon eyes n halo LEDs is too much,one or the other not both

@hmax
So I dont have halogen lights so I shouldnt have to worry about opening the lights. What LED's did you use? As far as mounting them in the projector, do you glue them down? Im guessing it gets pretty warm in there.. What about running the wires,do you have to cut a hole some where? Did you wire them to a switch? Sorry about all the questions, its just like I said, there isnt a ton of info on doing this. |

Are you planning on running them off the parking lights or a switch? If just of the parking lights I am sure you can connect them at the headlight harness. If on a switch then I would run the wires back through the rear cover with the other wires. Fish it through if possible and run them into the car as you best see fit based on where you plan to mount the switch.

Dave, if you did this mod, what colors would you be running?

Dave your over thinking this job, it's really easy if your have the oem HID projectors. It's just like mounting a led strip outside the car or inside the car. Just mount it, ima just used the 3m tape it came with, tap it to a power source (parking light) or run it to a switch (which I think would be better especially if you get a color other than white). I recommend getting the LEDs from oznium.
