Default 06 Maxima Wheel Fitment Help! (350Z Rims)

Hi guys, first post here. I hope the community is still active. Anyways I have a set of the factory chrome Maxima wheels for our 6th gen. Purchased these from dealer with the car. Of course a couple years into their life the wheels corroded badly and leak at the bead. I have since sourced out a set of the 350z V2 touring wheels (very similar 5 spoke if not exact shape to the factory chrome ones). I like the shape so I decided to go with them.

My question is, will the staggered z wheels fit the 6th gen without any mods?
The z wheel specs are (please correct me if I am wrong):
front - 18 x 8.0 +30mm offset
rear - 18 x 8.5 +33mm offset
tires - planning to run standard 245/45r18 all around

I want to know if there will be any rubbing (on both front and rear), or any other issues with these wheels on a 6th gen that has not been lowered or dropped and is completely stock. Also, are the standard/stock lug nuts good for these staggered 350z rims or do I need to purchase something else? Any rubbing with passengers in the rear? Please respond, any help would be greatly appreciated ASAP!!

I believe our specs on the stock maxima wheel is 18 x 7.5 +40mm offset

You won't have a problem with the fronts for sure. I don't recall on the backs. I think they rub depending on the tire size. Hopefully someone running that set up can comment.

Thanks for the responses guys. So for the Z lug nuts, do they have a special "locking wheel" Z lug nut also? Or is the one currently on my Maxima (from the dealer) still ok? I read somewhere the the 370Z/G37 rims can fall off if the 370Z/G37 lug nuts are not used. That's some scary S**t. Let me know as I still got a couple weeks before I decide to change over the winter wheels ( we may get one more big snowfall out here so gonna need my blizzaks). Just hoping I don't get any rubbing in the rear. Also read elsewhere it may be an option to run the 8.5 in the front and the 8.0 in the rear (although it sounds silly to me).

I am running the 370 lugs. They have long and short ones. Be sure you get the right one. The long won't hold they wheel properly and leave it loose. The key is really just the right base.

No sorry. Running the 370z kids with 370 wheels. I would double check but match the lugs to the wheels.

I have recently got a set of those 350z rims with the original lug nuts and with 245/45/18 tires with no rubbing issues at all.. i also installed coilovers not long after and with the drop the front slightly rubs when im turned full lock in reverse and the tire barely clears the fender in the rear. Im going to get the rear fenders rolled to be safe

I am going in this week to have them put on So you are using your original maxima lugs and no issues? You had no issues with rubbing with stock suspension and without a drop, but you got rubbing after the drop? Did you have issues with rubbing when you had passengers in the back before suspension? Let me know, thanks.

Default Re: 06 Maxima Wheel Fitment Help! (350Z Rims)

I don't know if I should ask this question in this thread or start another? I am researching some rims and tires for my 07 and want to know if my thinking is headed in the right direction.
The rims that I am currently looking at are 17x9(228.6mm) rims with a 24mmm offset.

The offset on the stock 17 x7.5(190.5mm) rims is 40mm. My calculations are the stock rims would be 190.5mm \ 2 + 40mm = 135.25mm total from mount toward fender well

The rims I am looking at 228.6 \ 2 + 24mm = 138.3 total from mount toward fender well

which would be a difference of (138.3 - 135.25 =) +3.05mm

stock tires are 225 55 17

Ok now I factor in the tires I am looking at 255 45 r17
255mm - 228.6= would add 26.4mm(total) /2 would be an extra 13.2mm + 3.05mm = 15.25mm total (for tires (255 45 r17) and rims (17x9)

correct me if I am wrong

Well just an update. I ended up running the 8.0" 350z rims on front and 8.5" 350z rims on the rear. All 4 tires are 245/45/R18. The front seems fine but the rear rubs slightly when there are sudden dips on the road and going at fairly high speeds. No damage to the fender itself or the tire but I think over time it will. Especially if I have a lot of stuff in the trunk, or passengers in the rear. Its ok on speedbumps, doesn't rub then, seems to only rub at higher speeds and sudden dips in the road. Looks like I will get the fenders rolled as it will only cost me about $150 to get them done. Have had them on for about a month now. Just thought I would post an update for anybody who may run in to similar issues.

A thought.. have you tried running the wider rims on the front ? Might be more room up there and no need to do any modification to the fenders
