Default How to Black Out Rear Emblems w/ Plastidip

This new plastidip stuff is amazing. Same concept applies to 6thgens.

--------------------------
Courtesy of Igor from g35nyc.com

I've been meaning to post this up for a while now, just haven't had the time to do it.... so now that I have a flu, and I wake up at the most random times... I figured I'd do it now... than never.
You can pick up a can of plastidip from the paint department of any home building store (Lowes, Home Depot, etc.)

In case you don't know what plastidip is... it's rubberized paint originally used to coat the grip of tools, until it was made in a spray form and fell into the hands of a car guy... and well the possibilities are endless. This stuff will peal off on demand with no issues as long as the coats are thick enough.

Sorry for the cell phone quality pics.

This works for any color you wish to paint your emblems or small items.

I'm going to use it on a few other things as well. Like the interior panel pieces etc...

Good question, I would think that it would hold up real good since it's plastic and not actual paint. BUT........whenever the one I got fades. I'm gonna get some of this stuff and black things out.

So blacking out the badges in the back looks good on a black max.. The grill however is a totally different story. Tried hitting that with the plastidip and it's just too much.. Looks great on the silver Durango though. I'll get some pics up tomorrow when I finish cleaning off the overspray and detail the rims
