Default 55 Watt HID Kit

i currently have 35 watt hid kit installed for my headlights and feel the low and high beam arent bright enough... was always afraid to get a 55 watt for fear of melting the housing but my questions is can the headlight handle a 55watt ballast with no problem??

also can i keep the same bulbs and just put in a 55 watt ballast or should i change both bulbs and ballast..?????

what i a good website to get a hid kit

i was going to get a 9006 kit 55w 8000k kit from hidextra.com

Ice Blue 9006 8000k HID Light Conversion Kit

any input is greatly appreciated !!

Theretrofitsource.com is the place to go. And if you want brightness you're shooting yourself in the foot with 8k. 6k is the highest I would go for light output. Optimal light output is at 4300k-5000k.

Do you have a aftermarket hid pnp kit, or did your car come with oem hids? If you have a aftermarket hid kit kit and want better lightning your answer isn't a higher watt ballast. You should install a actual HID projector, and you'll get better lighting performance.

i got a 55w ballast with 6k

HID and Highs output thru the same housing..bright as can be.

8k gave off a blue hue so i down graded to 6k to avoid police b.s.

Bi-xenon: Hella EvoX-R - HID Projectors from The Retrofit Source Inc
you can get the projectors from the link but you would need to do a retrofit since you have halogen.

The E55 projector or you can also use the Evox-R from the retrofitsource. Using hids projectors is the proper way to use hids. Stay within a 4300k-5000k for best output.
