Default PCV Valve

Hey guys i have a question , does the sixth generation Maxima uses a pcv valve ?. and if so is it a do it yourself job ? my car is a 2005 maxima with 68,598 miles i would like to see a video on this topic if anybody can send me a link to see the video, i never change it before and i have the car since it had 29k miles. A mechanic shop will charge a lot of money for a simple job like that thanks in advance .

Yes it does have a PCV valve. It's on the valve cover closest to the firewall on the passenger side. Unless you have tiny hands the best way to get to it is remove wipers, plastic rain cowl and metal bracket underneath the plastic cowl. There is a small hose that goes from the upper intake manifold and elbows down to the pcv valve. The valve itself unscrews out with a socket or crescent wrench.

Based on where it is a pic might be hard to get. I did a search and didnt find anything. Maybe some one else can help with that.

I think a lot of people refer to the good ole days as something great, as a lifer in the automotive industry I remember the good old days as cars that were far less advanced and a lot more prone to break downs. Who remembers using "Heet" in the winter time to keep your fuel lines from freezing.... Now you can get your butt warmed, your hands warmed your mirrors defrosted for you all from the comfort of your living room as you press the button on the remote start from your iPhone...... ohh and the seat and steering wheel will even fall right into position once you get in your toasty warm car....

Hope this helps,

For most of you , you guys still have the windshield wiper and cowl still in place , mines is off so its a bit easier to see,

The PCV is on the passenger side , it is do-able with some needle nose pliers but its still a PITA to do.

this is how your motor looks (my old motor )

Where I have circle in red is where the PCV is

( that is my homemade catch can if anyone ask )

This is your rear valve cover , this is the location of the PCV

Im not sure your compressor water/oil separator has an internal check valve or not. It appears as though you have the flow wrong as indicated by the arrow

Nice! In for pics.
1 step backwards 3 steps back sounds like my turbo mustang back in the day. I can certainly relate to that bro. Although now it runs like a mad ape!

Persistence pays off in the end. You'll get the 6th gen runnin better then ever
