Default Your Grounding Kit Experience

I just spent the last half hour reading about grounding kits on here and on google...but I can't decide if it makes a difference. Is it a mod that only makes a difference if you already have electrical problems or have a lot going on (i.e. big sound system)? I'd be interested in hearing from those who have the kits and how notable the differences were before and after the grounding kit. Thanks! It's always good hearing first hand!

Look at your ground cable going from the negative post under the battery. Chances are its fuzzy (coroded ( like most of them are. Its your electrical return path and the more corroded the more resistance. You will not feel the improvemebt but your charging/starting and electrical system will love you loooong time.

I got my grounding kit from @1hawaii50 I must say, I got it thinking it was just a cosmetic thing. After I installed it, I immediately noticed a smoother running engine and throttle response! As soon as I think about touching the accelerator I'm already gone, lol!!

Im not one of the big believers you will notice any difference in daily driving. If you have a big system its a must. I still had some dimming but it was significantly less than with out the kit. Personally, for such a cheap price Id just do it...

Glad to hear the input. I'll think about it! I just need to prioritize what I want to do next. Put on the eBay catback a few months ago, intake in the mail, so now I need to plan the next thing!

oh okay, well maybe I"ll try it out sometime and see for myself. I have an AT, if it really helps me shift smoother while in the manual mode then I'd love it. There is a big delay when I shift up in the manual mode.

1st to 2nd 15mph, 2nd to 3rd 25mph, 3rd to 4th 40mph etc. The car won't let you stall out thats why there is a delay.

You're saying to shift then? I take it much higher than that if I'm trying to drive it hard.

+1. I'm usually not a big believer of these types of "improvements" but after installing Don's grounding kit (and eventually I ordered and installed the + battery to alternator wire), I did notice the car felt just a bit more crisp.

So it still takes a while to switch gears when you dive it hard?

Yeah. No matter which gear, I'll shift up and the RPMs will go up another 1000 before it hits the next gear. I found this out right after I got the car, because I took it close to the redline and it kept going after I'd shifted.
