I got a quote for $300 and that was just the roof!

Go get a quote from a shop.

And we cant tell you how long it will last because it depends on a couple things. 1 - the material they use. Could be cheap crap could be good stuff. 2 - how well you take care of it. 3 - whatever the climate where you live.

Where I worked, it was $2500 to wrap your full car, with any color using top of the line material

Ask for 3M, that's the material used to wrap commercial cars. it would not ruin your original paint. Most new cars come with a clear bra thesee days which is clear vinyl the covers the whole front end to protect the car from rock chips. Matte white will look hot

Look on ebay for 3M vinyl for sure. I bought mine from these guys on ebay Auto Vinyl Solutions, LLC - Automotive Customizing, Graphic Design - San Antonio, TX | Facebook
Watch their vids they are amazing. I did my roof black a while ago and paid my tint guy $150 to redo my all windows and lay down the vinyl.

It used to be pearl white and turned into MatteBlack Batmobile style.
I still have to attach spoiler and finish front end + mirrors.
Took me about 9 hrs.

I would say for someone that never worked with vinyl it would be impossible to do.
Can you learn how to do this? Sure but it would take time and material to waste.
I like the fact that I can go back to original paint anytime I want.
