Default Are These Bulbs Safe?

So I bought fog bulbs off EBay (don't judge.) Anyway...they show up and they are 80w. Listing clearly states 55w (stock). I emailed seller and they are out of 55w. They offered me 30% off if I wanna keep the 80w or I can return for full refund. Is there harm in running the 80w or will it be fine. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

yeah the higher the bulb temperature the bigger chance you have of melting the housing...you should try them out for a while and once you notice something sketchy take those things out!

Is the 80w the bulb rating, or the draw? I think it is the bulb rating...meaning you should be fine running them on stock ballasts...someone correct me if I'm wrong...

Sounds like these are halogens rather than HID, so the draw from the bulbs will be 80w each. At that point, it will tax the factory wiring, possibly pop the fuse, and could also melt stuff.

Send them back.
