Default Sunroof Rattle

I have had a annoying rattle for a few weeks now. An after trial an error I narrowed it down to the sunroof. Seems to be rattling pretty good. When i close the cover you don't here it as much. but when its open its pretty loud. If i reach up an put just a slight amount of pressure on the glass it goes away. Anybody else ever experience this. An if so what's the fix...

And I thought I was the only one. I've gone as far as pulling the glass to inspect the sunroof components. The problem seems to lie in the rear crossbar that ties the two sides of the mechanism together. Unfortunately, I've found no simple fix for this. Like so many parts of modern cars, most of the mechanism is plastic and wears out over time. The only option I've found is to replace it the worn parts with new, but its not cheap. I wouldn't recommend this job be performed as a DIY. Find a local auto upholstery shop for repairs, not the dealership.

I also have this problem and it is very annoying. I also noticed that when you push up on it the noise goes away.

For me it kinda sounds like something tapping on a piece of sheet metal I guess it could be considered a rattle. I thought it had something to do with the lubrication of the mechanism but after I inspected it I realized that the guides still have lubrication and everything else as mentioned is tucked away pretty good and might have to be done by an upholstery shop.

Not saying you shouldnt attempt it but just know your more than likely going to have to remove your entire top half of interior to only expose a mechanism that you might not know anything about.
