Outside view

The silver Maxima has the sky view roof. It does not open.
The burnt orange Maxima has the Sun/Moon roof. It opens.

The difference between "Sun" and " Moon" roof is really the name.
I believe the first sunroofs were a solid panel without glass. When the glass panels were introduced, the marketing geniuses came up with the term "Moon Roof". It sounded romantic and soon became standard on luxury automobiles.

sun roof. I had the sky view and it was useless. it was something different for that time period but still doesnt replace the usefulness of a regular roof.

Default Re: Sun Roof, Moon Roof, Sky View

The moon roof is more practical. It opens, vents and is transparent.

The sky View roof is the one feature that made the 6th Generation Maxima unique.
Although it is simply transparent and serves no other useful purpose, it defines an individualistic style never seen before.

I would not mind having it at all.

I have often wondered why they did not make at least one of the panels slide open.
