Default Roof Spoiler

Hello everyone. So I finally got my roof spoiler for my max, I went with the iconics one from what I seen on this forum a couple of members got it. I went to my auto body guy and he told me it would be app. $175 to paint and fix like 1or 2 imperfections in the spoiler. But he said he has no idea how it goes on so I told him with double sided 3m tape, he told me that the 3m tape won't hold it on and he doesn't see where he would put the 3m tape on the spoiler to stick it on. He also said that he thinks an apoxie will hold it on bc he doesn't where to put the 3m tape. If someone can please help me I would really appreciate it, I'm anxious to put it on.

Ya that's what my guy said bc he doesn't see any place on the bottom of the spoiler to connect the 3m tape. Idk if it's good tho to use that bc then it's pretty much permanent isn

The tape goes on the little lip where it sticks to the car. Not that hard. I did mine myself a couple of weeks ago.

Use 3M tape (prepare both surfaces correctly and use rubbing alcohol!) or if youre a real G, use epoxy lol.

Ya I only wanted to use tape. Lol i guess I'm not a real g bc I'm not going to use apoxy, but thanks officerfrasher that's what I was wondering is where the tape went, that's pretty impressive that it only goes on that lip and it holds it on.

Dont use epoxy. Use 3m tape. Apply it to the lip of the spoiler and the 2 sections on the side that go down. 3m tape will hold extremely well. I couldn't create enough wind force to rip this thing off.

Should only take 2-3 days to do it. Unless the shop is super busy.

All the people I know who have it, use 3M tape to apply the spoiler. As for the spoiler taking a week to be painted, that blows, he must be backed up.

Mine is held with 3m double sided tape.

I know a friend of mine in brooklyn used the 3m & liquid nails.... The second time. Cuz the first one got stolen.

Ive had mine on for over a year and a half... Been through countless carwashes (minimum 3xs a week) and through a gorrible winter (last winter)

$175 seems high and he can't figure out where the tape would go, I'd consider a different shop. Did you a few estimates?
