Default OEM HID Conversion

I am looking to replace my aftermarket 07 HID converted headlights. I was considering picking up OEM Halogen headlights and buying the OEM Ballast and ignitor. I am guessing that it should be fairly easy to convert the oem halogen housing to oem hid right? Has anyone ever done this? Also i have read that there is a different lens in the projector for halogen... will i need to change this for oem type output? The reason i am considering going with OEM ballast and ignitor is because i want Factory quality lighting. I am very unhappy with my current setup and am nervous about driving at night!! My motorcycle has better lighting than my car!!

Thanks for the input!!

You are going to pay a bloody fortune for OEM housings and ballasts.

Thats what I did it was pretty easy you will need OEM ballast, ballast connectors, bulbs and E55 projectors . In total I spen under $300 for everything ballastx2 headlightsx2 (OEM) and projectors x2 .

I did this on my 07 Maxima going from Halogen headlights to a 6K HID kit from Maxpower (included the ballasts and bulbs) for about $200 if I remember correctly (could be lower now). It isn't that hard to do, but it takes a little bit of time. I don't consider myself that mechanically inclined and I found it an easy install that could be done in less than 2 hours.

well, I do believe that the projectors in the OEM headlights are going to be E55's. At least that is what they were for the 04-06. May be cheaper to open the lights and switch projectors. If the 07-08 were the E55, then it should be pretty easy to get the projectors installed(relative to putting another projector and modding them to fit). Seeing as you already have one light, you will just need a good deal on the other. Hope you find a good deal.

I believe they are the e55s and i was thinking about just swapping the lens not the whole projector to the ZKW-R lense
