Default My Headlight Bulbs Going Bad

ok so im sure this has came up before about the headlight bulb going pink?

My question is , what really determines the color, the bulb or ballast.... Becuz i have a kinda rare color of headlight and i dont want to get rid of the color, but i need to replace the bulb , so i was kinda hoping i could just put another blub in there and it would draw the same color? is this going to be possible or am i goinbg to have to get a new kit to match them?

for those OG members ( this kit was purchased from skip, before maxpower started selling his) ( 55watt Giant ballast like the size of videogame case...) i dont think the sell these anymore...?

someone help me

I think you could just order the same bulb and it should come out good because you are keeping the same ballast.

Birdy... just read your post again.

I had that same kit from skep as well. I bought them back in 06'. It worked great over the years but i'm getting a brand new set of ballasts and hid's. They are so inexpensive these days.

I replaced the bulbs and the ballasts are kind of weak man. Like the output isn't great anymore regardless what new bulb I put in there. Plus the ballast are huge in comparison to the new ones these days. The new ones will save some space.

If you put one new bulb in, the colors will not match. One will have 5 years of usage and the other will not. Plus if you're dropping the bumper, you might as well replace them both.

yeah so what thats what i was gonna figure to happen, no offense to maxpowers or anything, but i have 8ks in there now from skips and there white with a purple hue... his 8ks are like a aqua blue which will not go good with my purplish leds so thats a no no, i dunno what his 6ks look like but im sure there is no purple in them either so im at a tough spot becuz now the headlights wont match my leds and its gonna throw the whole front end off....

You're not going to have any purple in a 6k kit, youi're going to need to go 8K or higher.
