Ok so, I finally got my LED resistors but I'm still confused about one thing, the ground. Am I supposed to ground it to another turn signal wire or do I just ground it to the body. I read the sticky but it ps not very clear about the ground.

I had mine grounded to the wire.
Never thought about grounding it to the car. Figured since it was wire I'd just go wire-to-wire. |

Ground it to the black wire.

So there is a black wire in the same turn signal harness?

Yes, use the clips and clip one resistor wire to the green wire with yellow on it and the other resistor wire to the black wire ( ground ). And the other resistor same thing but with a green wire with black on it. Easy as cake.

The + wires are Green/black strip and Green/yellow strip. You can use either the black wire in the harness or go directly to a body ground.
The black wire goes to a body ground behind the head lights up front and in the rear by the rear seat latches. Or you can go straight to a body ground. Either way will get you there. Use the pink scotch locks, as they fit tighter then the blue ones in my opinion. Last edited by DAlastDON; 05-28-2012 at 12:38 AM. |

Ok so I was trying to put these in and so far no luck.
On the drivers side it has the green/yellow and the black ground. I tapped into those but it didn't work. Do both resistors have to be connected to work? Also on the drivers side there is no green/black wire only a green/white... Any ideas? |

I have both my resistors hooked up on the drivers side, I'm pretty sure it's the same wires that run across the whole car. Both resistors hooked on drivers side since November and no issues here.

I hope I wasnt supposed to get 3 ohm. Every one said I needed 6 ohm...

Really?! I thought they at least needed to be one on each side.

Lol, mine is all on the same side, one wire is passenger and the other is driver so I don't see why they need to be separate, working for 5+ months going strong.

Do you have a test light? It's real easy if you do.

Review these pictures and then go do it. If you have the blue scotch locks then you may have to remove a small amount of insulation. The pink or red ones(don't remember) are smaller and pierce the insulation much better. Used them on the lights on the mirrors.
Remove the cargo net hooks, and fold the carpet back. ![]() After removing the tape around the wiring bundle, these are your + wires. You can use the black wire as ground if you want to. It is the ground for all of the lights in the rear. It leads to a body ground behind the rear seat on the drivers side close to the seat release. ![]() This is where i made a body ground. Both of the - wires on the resistor goto a ground. It is the location for the rear sonar control box if equipped. ![]() Where i mounted the resistors. If you have the sonar option, pick another place. Drill a hole and hit it with some primer after getting it secured.

I did mine at the light and let the resistor hang behind the bumper. But you can do it in the trunk.

It doesn't matter where you tap in to the turn signal circuit. In the trunk, its all in one location. It is also sausage finger friendly and has a minimal tear down of stuff to get to it should there be an issue in the future.

Trunk was easiest in my opinion. Just wire them the same way I showed you and you'll be good.
